Ph.D. Programme
 
 
Application:
Two copies of the application should be sent for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
The applications of candidates who have applied for admission to M.Phil. shall not be considered for Ph.D., and vice-versa. (This para holds well when the university begins to offer both M.Phil and Ph.D.)
Applications from ineligible candidates shall be rejected and listed, indicating the reason for rejection.

Eligibility:

    The eligibility conditions prescribed for admission to the Ph.D. programme are as follows and should be adhered to:
Candidates should possess a Master's Degree in Special Education in the concerned disability or any post-graduate degree related to disability or any other qualification recognized by the Board of Management of this University as equivalent thereto.
Candidates should have passed a 2-year PG degree course after a 3-year Bachelor's degree course, and the Higher Secondary course of 2 years duration after the 10-year S.S.L.C. exam or 1 year pre-degree after the 11-year S.S.L.C. exam. Candidates who have passed the PG degree examination with less than a total of 17 years of study are not eligible for admission to Ph.D. programmes.
Candidates with Open University qualifications who have not put in a minimum of 10+2+3 years of study for obtaining the PG qualification are not eligible for admission to research programmes.
Candidates who are doing M.Phil. programmes in this university will not be considered for admission to the research programmes. In any case, candidates will not be permitted to undergo two courses simultaneously in the same/different subject(s).
Full time Programme
    1. In the case of SC/ST candidates, 50% marks in P.G.courses is sufficient to be enrolled as a full time Ph.D. scholar. Any relaxation in these conditions on the merit of each case is subject to the decision of the Board Of Management of this University. In the case of candidates belonging to other communities, 55% marks and above in the Master's degree in the concerned or related discipline, with or without M.Phil degree is essential.

2. Candidates with 55% of marks and above in Master's degree in the concerned or related  discipline, and working as a junior research/senior research fellow or as full-time research assistant/technical assistant in time-bound research schemes in University departments and research institutes also can be enrolled as full-time Ph.D. scholars, subject to the condition that they obtain the following certificates:

a) No- objection certificate from the proposed guide for registering the candidate as a P H. D. scolars
b) Certificate from the head of the concerned deportment, wherein it should be stated that the HOD has examined the condition of the scheme/project of the candidate with the reference to the following:
*whether the scheme/project is sponsored by a government agency (the name of the agency shall be mentioned );
*that the candidate is not debrared from joining Ph.D course as a time scholar.

Part-time programme

          Candidates possessing any of the above qualifications and falling under any of the following categories are eligible to register for the Ph.D. part time programme.
(a) A teacher working in the department of the University or of an affiliated College of the University/an RCI -recognized institution/Higher secondary school. /high school/Polytechnic.
(b) A Candidate employed other than as a teacher in a permanent job in the organisations/any Institute with the minimum of four years of total working experience, with the qualifying the degree, and satisfying the rules framed separately by the that in Board of Management from time to time.
